21.09.2010 "Something I wrote"

What is there to do?
When you feel yourself changing; unable to stop it.
Looking back, I see now; the stranger I’ve become.
Once a young girl; immune to the troubles of the world,
Laughing so hard it hurt like hell.
How I wish I knew what changed along the way.
No photo can bring back the memories I cherished,
Staring in the mirror, a scared, tormented girl;
A stranger to everyone, hiding behind a false smile.
Longing for someone to see the truth, screaming from behind her sheltered eyes.
Dreaming of the day you see her as something more;
Wishing she could be the girl you deserve; the girl worthy of your love.
Tears flee from pained eyes as reality strikes her back.
Looking to God she allows the morning sun to kiss her skin;
‘What does it take to be happy again?’ she whispered;
‘Will I ever fly with the angels I dream of? Will I ever stop crying?’ drops of rain fell along her face;
‘Even angels cry’ was the answer she received.
